Saul of Tarsus, son of Benjamin Part 9

This week we want to take you through an exploration of the letters written by Saul. For the purpose of this series we are going to concentrate on 1st Timothy for our discussions. Understand we only have the answers given by Saul, in order to understand the answer we must take a look and try to extrapolate the questions form the answers.

As an example in 1 Timothy Chapter 1:4 Saul rights to Timothy “nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, that cause questions rather than the building up of God that is in faith”, This is an obvious response to questions posed by Timothy to Saul as to the conflicting Genealogies of Jesus in the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. Certainly no other Genealogies listed in the Torah would have led to this conflict, with the possible exception of someone challenging Timothy as to his, and for that matter Saul’s genealogy not being Levites. There by questioning their very authority to teach.

Next we look at the questions in Chapter 3 Saul is giving directions on what it takes to be a leader in the Church, he is basing these on Talmudic requirements to be a leader in the synagogue or a member of the Sanhedrin.

A point we feel is necessary to address is Chapter 3:16 where Saul claims God to have manifested in the Flesh. We find no evidence of this being stated in the Torah or the prophecies to this being a fact, and quite the contrary. In trying to explain the thought process behind this we must look to the words of Jesus, in my Father’s Kingdom are many mansions. Notice how Jesus refers to the Kingdom of Adonai (The Lord God Most High). Jesus never claimed to be Adonai. He claimed to be the Son of Adonai (The Lord God Most High). It was always meant to be understood that the Messiah was to be the Prince of Peace. He stated he would sit at the Right hand of the Father, in the seat of the Prince not the throne of Adonai (The Lord God Most High). In Isaiah 9:6 “For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.” Jesus continuously referred to the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN of which he is the prince not the King. Confirming this through Ezekiel 45:17 “And on the prince are the burnt-offerings, and the present, and the libation, in feasts, and in new moons, and in Sabbaths, in all appointed times of the house of Israel: he doth make the sin-offering, and the present, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.” Note that herein lays a complete list of all the times and ceremonies in which the Jewish people were to make sacrifices, clearly stating that the Messiah would take the place of all these sacrifices. Which bears witness to our claim of last week that there is but one Law Numbers 15:15-16 to Jew and Gentile who gives burnt offerings up to Adonai (The Lord God Most High).
